Can you cancel your Lovable subscription and keep your website online?
Why do people cancel after publishing?
Most of the cost of a Lovable plan pays for AI credits, which you use heavily while building and barely at all once the site is finished. Paying every month just to keep a domain connected is the part that feels wasteful.
What should I do before cancelling?
- Finish the edits you want while you still have plenty of credits.
- Open the Code view and click Download codebase. Keep the zip somewhere safe. It is a full copy of your site.
- Upload the zip to a host and check the site works on the free preview address. On Lovely Hosting that takes about a minute.
- Move your domain: change its two DNS records to point at the new host, or buy a new domain there.
- Once the domain shows your site from the new host, cancel the Lovable plan. You can keep using Lovable's free plan for small edits.
Can I still edit my site afterwards?
Yes. Your project remains in Lovable. The free plan includes a small number of AI credits, which is enough for occasional text and image changes. After an edit, download the code again and upload the new version, or connect GitHub so updates publish themselves.
What does it save?
A paid Lovable plan starts at about $25 a month at the time of writing. Hosting an export on Lovely Hosting is $9.00 a month, plus about $11 a year for the domain. Over a year that is roughly $300 compared with about $119.

Common questions
Do I lose my project if I cancel Lovable?
No. Projects stay in your account on the free plan. What changes are the paid features and the number of AI credits you get.
Who owns the code Lovable generates?
You can download and use your project's code, which is what makes hosting it elsewhere possible. Check Lovable's terms for the exact wording.
