Lovable pricing explained: what you pay for, and what you can stop paying for

Quick answer. Lovable charges for AI credits, not for visitors or pages. At the time of writing the free plan gives a handful of credits a day, Pro starts at about $25 a month and Business at about $50. Paid plans also unlock custom domains and hiding the Lovable badge. Once your site is built you use few credits, so if the domain is the only reason you are still paying, hosting your exported code elsewhere costs less.

What is a credit?

Each message you send to Lovable's AI costs credits, more for big requests and less for small tweaks. Building a site from nothing can use a lot in a few days. Maintaining a finished site uses almost none.

Is Lovable worth paying for?

While you are actively building, usually yes: the paid credits are what let you finish in days. The question changes when the site is done. From then on a Pro plan is mainly paying to keep a custom domain connected.

How do I pay less once the site is finished?

  1. Finish your edits while you have credits.
  2. Download your code and host it on your own domain.
  3. Downgrade to the free plan. Your project stays, and the free credits cover small changes.

How much can I use Lovable for free?

The free plan includes a small daily allowance of AI credits with a monthly cap, plus free publishing on a lovable.app address. It is enough to try Lovable and to make occasional small edits.

Are there costs besides the plan?

Projects with a database or logins use Lovable Cloud, which has its own usage allowances. A simple website without a backend does not run into them.
