How to hand a Lovable website over to a client

Option 1: transfer the project inside Lovable

Lovable lets you move a project to another workspace from the project's settings. The client needs their own Lovable account first. Connections such as GitHub or a database usually have to be linked again on their side afterwards, and features like a custom domain depend on the plan their workspace is on. Lovable changes these screens often, so follow its current help pages for the exact clicks.

Option 2: hand over the code

1. Open the Code view and click Download codebase.
2. Send the client the zip. It is a complete copy of the site's source.
3. Tell them about images: pictures added inside Lovable are not in the zip. See why images break after export.
4. They host it wherever they like, or drop it on a host that accepts the zip as it is.

Option 3: keep hosting it for them

Many clients do not want a Lovable account or a hosting account. They want a working website and one invoice. What should I check before any handover?

• The domain is registered in the client's name, with their email on it.
• They have a copy of the code, even if you keep hosting.
• Logins for anything the site uses, such as forms, analytics or email, belong to them.
• You have agreed in writing who handles future edits and at what price.
